Hike Osage Hills State Park west of Bartlesville CANCELLED

CANCELLED Join us for a day hike at Osage Hills State Park west of Bartlesville on March 23, 2013. We will hike the 5 mile Bugle Trail and hike to the remains of an old Civilian Conservation Corps campsite where we can see the old water tower and building foundations. The CCC did some marvelous work in this park building some extremely attractive bridges and other structures. The terrain is pleasingly different than eastern Oklahoma with the hike considered easy to moderate. Temperatures should be perfect for hiking. Plan on walking 5-7 miles and being there till mid to late afternoon. Bring a lunch, snacks and water. Wear appropriate clothing and rain gear if needed. Meet at Backwoods at 9:00am. You can meet there too. The trip leader, Glen Brewington of Backwoods, will have to determine the best place to meet up at and the expected time of arrival for us coming from Tulsa. I will put more information in the comments section as needed. Let me know if you have questions.

Bummer-on canceling! I was looking forward to this hike. Feel better Glen and/or whomever else is in poor health!

The Osage Hills State Park Dayhike has been cancelled due to weather and the event organizers health condition. You should receive an email from this site if I did it correctly. Sorry about canceling. I plan to reschedule this trip later in the year. Join us for the next hike April 13th when we go to Greenleaf State Park near Muskogee.

Once you get to Bartlesville, what highway do you take to get to the park?
