This will be an all day event on Sunday June 24th. If you attend church I have made lunch late enough that you can come enjoy the day as well. I have posted start time as 9 a.m. but feel free to come earlier or later. Lunch will be at 1:00. Please read all details and read all comments before posting more comments about what has already been discussed. As of right now I'm not going to limit the # of people. Thanks, Gayle
COST: I have rented Pavillion #2 in the Lake Country area of Keystone Lake State Park. The cost was $75 so depending on how many people sign up as to how much to donate to cover the fee.
RSVP: When you RSVP please write down what picnic dish you are bringing, or if you are willing to share a kayak, bike, or help with geocaching so everyone can see what others will be bringing.
RECREATION: KAYAKING, BIKING, GEOCACHING,HIKIKING,SWIMMING: We will be kayaking (those who own kayaks I will leave it up to you whether or not if you are willing to share your kayak(s)), there is also mt biking (maps can be picked up at the store on the way in), or you can just ride in the state park on the roads ( I managed to get 10 miles on my hybrid bike by exploring the camping areas, marina and riding down toward the dam. I do encourage wearing helmets ! There is a trail for hiking and also several Geocaches in the State park as well. A small beach for swimming is also close by.
PICNIC: Lunch at 1:00 Plan on grilling and bringing a dish to share. I would like everyone to bring whatever meat (and burger/hotdog buns if needed) plus some kind of side dish for sharing with others. If you don't cook or don't have time to cook you can sign up for chips, soda, ice, desserts,...... Also if anyone has tableclothes, paperware, charcoal, grilling utensils I would appreaciate it if you could bring them. Just mark in your RSVP so I know. This is a non alcohol event.
DON'T FORGET: Chairs, sunscreen, swim suits, towells, and a smile on your face. Hopefully the weather won't be to hot!
CAMPING: For those who want to camp, I will leave it up to you to set that up. There are lots of sites around Pavillon #2 and lots more. Feel free to post in comments area if you want to find others to camp with you. [masked] or oklahomaparks.com
