Bonjour et bienvenue à bord.
Tunbridge Wells Francophiles has been in existence for over four years and continues to grow and evolve. We meet every two weeks to have a meal or a drink and some conversation in French.
You will find a warm and inviting group and people come from all over Kent, Sussex and Surrey. There is a mixture of skill sets. In terms of fluency, it's preferable to have a minimum of conversational French to be able to join in because we speak French until it's time for coffee : However, this group is by no means intended to be just for those who speak French perfectly. It's also about gaining confidence until you feel comfortable. Regardless of your ability you are always welcome. The idea is that everyone helps everyone else improve their spoken French in a positive and helpful way
Our existing home restaurant is Mount Edgcumbe, The Common, Tunbridge Wells, and we start around 7.30. We do try and speak French for the majority of the evening but when the coffees arrive we seem to switch back to English. We are hoping to expand our meetings with other activities, for example French films at the Trinity Theatre or day trips etc. Suggestions by members is most welcome.
It's a very informal, friendly and jolly group - don't be afraid to come along!
These are just some of the comments that we have received about the Group.
