This is the 11th year for the DC Turkish Festival, which gets bigger every year. Interested in making new friends, helping DC learn more about Turkish culture, and simply having fun? Then join me and volunteer for a few hours at the upcoming Turkish Festival!
Chosen as the "Best Festival of Washington DC" by the readers of the Washington City Paper, the DC Turkish Festival brings Washingtonians and local visitors the colorful Turkish culture, delicious food, local dances, shows and bazaars to the heart of DC.
This year, the Turkish festival will be on September 29, 2013 from 11am to 7pm on Pennsylvania Avenue N.W. between 12th and 14th streets! There will be many fun opportunities to work with art, youth, performers, the bazaar, coffee tent, and meet an incredible group of people. Additionally, before and after the event there will be special receptions and trainings for volunteers only! (Coffee-making and "fortune telling" training will be provided for those who want to work in the coffee tent). Volunteers also receive free t-and snacks to show appreciation for their hard work! (And free lunch to volunteers who help all day!)
