2. TED Talks Meetup in Yazane

“Yazane” invites you to watch and discuss best speeches from global TED conferences. Please, come on Thursday, December 12, at 18.00. This week’s choice is environmental issues. Working languages are Turkish and English.

TEDTalks are not limited in topics. We will touch upon a variety of issues such as social media, education, medicine, science, urban planning, new technologies, and others. We hope that in atmosphere of collaboration and creativity of TEDTalks you will learn interesting facts, get inspiration, and share you concerns or ideas on given topic.

TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a global set of conferences under the slogan "ideas worth spreading". TED's mission statement begins:

"We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world. So we're building here a clearinghouse that offers free knowledge and inspiration from the world's most inspired thinkers, and also a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other."

TED speeches address a wide range of topics within the research and practice of science and culture, often through storytelling. The speakers are given a maximum of 18 minutes to present their ideas in the most innovative and engaging ways they can. Past presenters include Bill Clinton, Jane Goodall, Malcolm Gladwell, Al Gore, Gordon Brown, Richard Dawkins, Bill Gates, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and many Nobel Prize winners.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
