Let's Meet-Up and Go to the Sierra Club Turtle Coast September Monthly Meeting

Our September monthly meeting, September 27, 2012, starting at 7:00 PM,  will feature Charles Pelizza, of the U S Fish and Wildlife Service, who will be speaking on the Everglades Headwaters National Wildlife Refuge.

Mr Pelizza is Manager of Pelican Island, Archie Carr, Lake Wales Ridge National Wildlife refuges, and Everglades Headwaters National Wildlife Refuge and Conservation Area.

He was the Project Leader for US Fish and Wildlife Service in developing the nation’s newest National Wildlife Refuge. He has worked with ranchers and land owners to conserve 150,000 square miles in the central part of the state which is critical for the health of the Everglades. One third of that area will be owned by the federal government, the remainder is in conservation easement.

Come out and find out what is so special about this newest refuge!

There will be social time at 6:30 with light refreshments. The meeting begins at 7 PM.

All are welcome. No admission fee.
