Tim Minchin is actually coming to our area! This is a very rare opportunity to see him, so get your tickets as soon as you can. They will go fast, no doubt. (I'm also hoping to plan a Meet Up afterward for cocktails, details to follow.)
Tickets are available here, general sale starts Fri, June 10 at 11am.
Here are some Minchin links if you're living under a rock and don't know what you'd be missing if you didn't go:

Epic time..I love Tim Minchin all the more now that I've seen him live. And what's better than a post-event pub night with fellow atheists! Great experience :)

Anyone can make their own meet up site, too, it just costs a lot of money. So you can post here for free, or you can make your own if you like.

Anyone can, that's what this group is about. It's open to posting meet ups. That's why it was formed in the first place, so that there wouldn't be a board or people deciding what could or couldn't be done. But honestly- I gave out my personal cell to the entire world for all of y'all, so there's not much else I could have done to help you find us.
I wish I'd known you didn't feel like hosting a meetup or holding a sign. I would have done it. It's a treat to get together with others in the MNS/TCA groups now and then.
Also, Vic and I hadn't planned on doing a meet up beforehand, we were just going out with some friends. And then afterward, I didn't really feel like hosting or holding up a meet up sign. Meet Up planning isn't easy and if I would have picked a spot beforehand, people just would have complained about that, too, so it's never an easy task.
Well, people were calling and texting me for days, no one knew where to go. I don't live in the Twin Cities, so I am not familiar with the bars down there- and we ended up going to one that was right next to the stage door anyway that no one even knew was there-it's a bit hard to plan ahead for something like that. Aside, this meet up was just an FYI to let people know about the concert. I gave my cell as a courtesy to everyone here if they wanted to get together after as something extra.
Oops guess I got confused by how every other meetup I've been to posted the location to gather on the meetup and didn't require additional levels of phone calling. At what point should we have called, were things decided before the show? After the show? So I'll know for next time. It would have been really neat to meet Tim and to talk with the group about the show.
I shared my phone number to get together afterward- and a lot of people met up, even people we didn't know. It's right at the top of this thread. There is only so much I can do- no one knew where we were going to end up afterward, so texting/calling me was the only way I could think of. It would be nice if everyone on here would just take a look at the posts and plan ahead with me- it's not exactly easy all of the time...
I guess some people missed that I posted my cell to meet up afterward... Lol. Well, there's only so much I can do. Those who did hang out by the stage door and went out for drinkies after, it was a blast!!! :) Great show, too, btw, which was what the event was really for- to get the word out! :)
Outstanding! I haven't laughed that hard since i watched him on YouTube. Meeting him was the icing on the Meetup cake.
Great show. Glad so many friends could make it.
Tim Minchin was fabulous, great show. But there was no meeting up at all. We didn't know most of the others coming, and had no way of finding them or getting together as no time or place had been set.
I see the co-organizer mentions meeting Tim - that would have been fun, I wonder how I could have been part of that. Was there any info shared about where and when to meet?
The best one man show on the planet!
Where is the place to be??

Are there any definite plans to get together yet? Bunches of suggestions, one couple going here, another maybe there... we'd like to get together... And did Tim say he'd come - where?
We are going to be at Davanni's at around 7:00 then head to show. By the way I tweeted Tim to see if he could meet our group.
I think a few of us will be at Pizza Luce before hand, too, probably around 5:30pm. I was mostly trying to get people together after the show to have a drink/talk about the show... We were thinking about O'Donovan's or Brit's afterward.

How about something closer, like Rock Bottom or Kieran's?
Carl and I are meeting at Davanni's before the show if anyone wants to join us!
You might try Davannis a couple blocks South of the theater. 1242 Hennepin Ave,[masked]-0000.Their "party room can accommodate up to 25 people".http://davannis.com/index.asp?PageID=22&LocationID=16
Or, across the street from Davannis is a place I've never been, but it is in the area. 1225 Hennepin Ave ~[masked]http://www.elisfoodandcocktails.com/

Hey all. No one really knows where to head to yet after the Tim Minchin show, but if you want to get together or have any ideas, give my cell a text that night: [masked]
