Informal Meetup - Come for ideas, or bring your own!

Since Common Roots seems to be booked until the summer, John reserved a great meeting room at the library! I need to get some stuff together but we should have some data for you to play around with, or bring your own project and ask for advice and feedback!

Note: This conference room seats 20 people, so I'm limiting the RSVP list to that. Please be honest about your RSVPing here, since this is a little more space limited. If you get put on the waitlist and want to take your chances, feel free to do so and maybe we can find another study area at the library or something :)

Note 2: There is no free parking that I'm aware of around the library, but usually at this time of the evening, during non sporty times, parking is pretty cheap and should be just a couple dollars.

Feel free to post any questions! Hope to see you there!

I created a force layout showing some of the tech meetup groups near Minneapolis. Edges indicate overlapping membership. http://gotmath.com/doc/meetup-viz/

FYI so we abide by the library rules on Tuesday -- no food is allowed in the meeting room, though covered beverages are.

Please do bring any data of interest you'd like to introduce/work on for the meetup. If you're looking for something to putz with, I mentioned this set to Kristina that I put together for the R User Group:

There's also an artsy-Google challenge which you could use one of of Google's many APIs with D3 to enter http://googledevelopers.blogspot.com/2014/02/devart-your-code-belongs-in-art-gallery.html

If anyone is interested in energy, the DoE is again sponsoring an Energy Apps competition to get folks interested in some of their data APIs. I'm hoping to start playing with some of these on Tuesday. Let me know if this piques your interest and would be interested in pairing to play with some of this data. http://energychallenge.energy.gov/a/pages/featured-inputs
