Nintendo has a really great legacy. I like the fact that I can play through an entire Nintendo franchise like Legend of Zelda or Super Mario without having to tolerate a single bad game. And while I'm doing it, I can watch the technology and gameplay evolve. I also find that Nintendo is very easy for people to pick up. While it's hard to get someone comfortable with a lot of hardcore RTS or FPS games, most people feel just fine with giving Mario Kart a try. So it's the perfect company to play with if you want to just enjoy gaming with a diverse group of people.
I'm a big completionist. I prefer playing franchises where I can collect everything in every game. I love Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., and the various Mario RPG games. I also enjoy playing the casual games like Wii Sports/Fit and Brain Age. Outside of Nintendo, I'm a big fan of Blizzard's RTS games like Starcraft.
For consoles I've got GameCube, Wii, and Wii U. For handhelds I have Gameboy Advance, GameBoy Advance SP, GameBoy Micro, DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL, 3DS, and 3DS XL.(More than one of some of them)
Because if I wasn't interested, then setting up this fantastic meetup group would end up being a waste. But seriously, I find that Nintendo fandom makes for a great ice breaker when socializing and being able to play the games together is even better! Also, I've got a lot of extra controllers and handheld systems that just aren't worth the investment when no one else is using them at the same time.
I'm a tech support professional and I've lived in Minnesota all my life. Along with video games, I enjoy singing and the theatre. I've been having a lot of fun finding meetup groups that fit me and creating ones that I couldn't find.
