Paddle the backwaters of the Mississippi

Meet at Collvil Park in Red Wing Minnesota Saturday March 10th, 2012 at 10:00AM. Collvil Park is located off HWY 61 south of Barn Bluff. There is a sheltered area to launch boats. From there we will paddle across the river to the Wisconsin side where springs keep the waters open all year. Lots of wild life Eagles, Swans, Ducks, Geese Etc. Plan on a 2-3 hour trip. Contact me if you have questions. Will find a place for lunch after the trip. BAD WEATHER MAY CANCEL THIS TRIP. Light snow we go. Not paddling in the rain. Hope for Sunny calm conditions. NOTICE: This is an easy trip. BUT YOU MUST HAVE A WET SUIT OR A DRY SUIT OR EQUAL TO PADDLE WITH US.

The paddle was as good as it could be. With sunny sky's, the temp around 65 degrees and all the migrating birds. Was a great way to start the paddling season.

I have to back out and take advantage of the warm day to do some much-needed car repair. (Clutch master and slave cylinder replacement) I hope everyone has a really good time, and I'm expecting to see pics!!

Bring a map case or a zip lock bag. I will have maps for everyone. Forecast still looks great

Looks like we will get the weather we wanted. Long range forecasts are now in the mid 50s

I would love to do this, but I already have plans with my kids. I hope you do another paddle like this soon.
