Radical Reels Film Tour

Brought to You By
Midwest Mountaineering Saturday, April 27th, 2013  7:30p.m. U of M – Willey Hall Auditorium

(2 blocks from Midwest Mountaineering)

Purchase Tickets Here:

The Banff Mountain Film Festival (held annually in Banff, Alberta Canada from late October into early November) accepts over three hundred mountain films into it's competition, the top fifty or so are screened throughout the festival.  Every year the films feature a range of styles and themes, including climbing, skiing, kayaking, biking, adventure, culture and the environment.  So many action films were being submitted to the film festival that they could not fit into the regular screenings, resulting in the creation (in 2004) of the hugely successful Radical Reels evening presentation.

The Radical Reels Tour (website: – travels each Spring – specifically featuring the dynamic, high-adrenaline films from the festival and complements the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour that travels in November.  The focus is on sports such as skiing, climbing, kayaking, BASE jumping, snowboarding and mountain biking.  Now you don't have to journey to Banff each fall to see these exciting films!

The Radical Reels Tour contains no duplicate films from the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour held in November.  Radical Reels contains high-adrenaline short films from all outdoor sports.

New Ticket Procedure:  No telephone orders.  No will-call ticket pickup (or ticket sales) at the event door.

Matt, any progress on getting a table at Republic? I'd be up for some pre- or post-festival festivities.

Yes, and they do not do reservations then because it's too busy. So first to arrive should grab space on the patio!

I'm going for sure, I have my ticket in hand but I'm going with my family and prob sitting with them but I'd love to connect with some climbers at the show. If you see me say hello!

I'm going to see about getting a table at Republic for pre-show drinks and food.

Sometimes when these film tours come around, climbers get together for drinks and food before or after the film. Use the message board to connect with others and make plans. Sadly, this falls on a night I already have concert tickets. (someone record the films on their phone for me)
