News and Events - 3/23/12
Hey parents! VE's spring teams are registering now with a deadline of Monday, 3/26. Find details for St Paul here and for Minneapolis here. Four kids from these programs made it to nationals held earlier this month and one of them took first place in her division! That's first place nationally!! Crazy. See comp highlights here. Get your kid in a program, there are beginner through advanced teams with VE and the coaches are great folk. Also, if you're interested in becoming a coach, send an email to Tyler at [address removed].

I saw Brett McGraw last night and he's talking about Taylors Falls on the weekend of 3/31. Watch the calendar and your email for an announcement from Brett. Brett has trad and top rope set up experience and loves to share in climbing adventures. Taylors Falls is a great place to get outside for your first time. It offers many routes 5.8 and below to get comfortable with the mental aspect of climbing outside. It is a much different experience than climbing at the gym!
I am waiting for Red Wing to dry up a little bit on the shady side and then I'll be looking to get some folks out to Red Wing for some sport climbing (and top rope for those that don't lead). My sources tell me that it is wet, wet, wet on the shady side these days and this week's rain likely hasn't helped. The sunny side is all 5.10+ and up, so if you are a confident leader, there is still great stuff available in Red Wing.
