TCRC Meetup Climber Benefit Card!
VE has just joined us as a sponsor. Read about the great deal that we have worked out for eligible TCRC Meetup Climbers here. Climbers who purchase a TCRC Meetup Member Benefit Card receive $3 off admission at Minneapolis and St Paul VE every Thursday night or if you have an annual VE membership, receive an exra 5% off of gear purchases!
Spring Social - Please RSVP so I can give Pizza Luce a head count before Thursday, 4/26!
We are having our Spring Social at Pizza Luce in St Paul on Thursday, April 26, starting at 9:30. This year, I have secured some donations (see picture above) from the MNCC, Access Fund, VE, and from our very own Dr. Hanson. Raffle tickets will be $1 each and all proceeds will go towards TCRC Meetup dues. RSVP today at this link.
Robinson Park in Sandstone, MN with Jake on 4/22
Meetup Climber, Jake, is heading to Sandstone this Sunday. Sandstone offers sport climbing next to the Kettle River. Many of the anchors can be reached by a short hike and set up as top ropes for climbers that don't lead (please use your own gear on the anchors and don't hang your ropes from the rap anchors provided unless rappelling). VE Minneapolis - Comp Setting 4/19 & 4/20
This Thursday and Friday, route setters will be stripping walls and setting new routes for the Jug-or-Not comp on Saturday, 4/21. If you are a regular Thursday night climber, you may want to consider heading to St Paul this week instead of Minneapolis!
VE Minneapolis - Thursday Night Host
Dr. Chris Hanson is stepping down as the Thursday Open Climb Event Host after many months of service to the Meetup Group. At this time, we will not have a designated host at VEM on Thursdays. If you would like to become the host, please email me and we can discuss it. Until a new host is in place, please use the message board on Thursday night event pages to coordinate meeting up with one another.
MN Climbing Co-op Comp Boulder Problems
This past Saturday was the Best of the Midwest at the MNCC. A handful of Meetup climbers attended and a few placed in their respective divisions. Congrats to all! Now that the comp is done, there are 63 of the finest boulder problems you can imagine awaiting you. Stop by the co-op M, W, F from 5:30 - 9:30 for Open Hours, admission is only $10!
MCA Announces First Climber Gathering of the Year!
The MCA (www.mnclimbers.org) hosts a few climber gatherings every year. Devil's Lake has just been announced for Jun1-3, 2012. Camping will be at Mirror Lake State Park and climbers branch off into groups for the days climbing at nearby Devil's Lake State Park. RSVP to this event here.
