Chapter 13 lists Kvothe's age. The paragraph starts "He's so young." Also in that chapter 13, a few paragraphs earlier. The last sentence of the paragraph starting with "'However,' Kvothe continues" gives insight into Bast. Near the end of Chapter 88 the last sentence of paragraph that starts "Bast's normally affable expression" provides the more obvious answer. Chapter 92 its mentioned again in the middle of the paragraph "Bast nodded." In fact one of the parts I found the most funny was in that same chapter where Chronicler starts to said "Without the dark parts it's just some silly ". It plays on Bast's background. It's very clear here.

I have not read the book, would it make sense to me if I attended? I have heard that it is a good read. Incidentally, I backed a set of "The Name of Wind" playing cards on Kickstarter, they are absolutely gorgeous. Should arrive in December. Check them out here! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1460165270/the-name-of-the-wind-playing-cards

I would expect there are going to be a lot of spoilers. Much of the discussion will likely be speculation about things that are hinted in the book but not answered by the end. I guess it would be a question about if spoilers bother you.

Yeah, I wish I had seen that before it closed. I would love to have a set of those myself. I agree, they look amazing.

That makes a lot of sense, Jason. I'll have to add the book to the 1,000 books I've been meaning to read! So many good books, so little time!

Thought I wouldn't finish the book in time but I'm almost done! Yay!
