Elm Creek Dam loop

Long range forecast looks bad for next weekend, but they've been so off this year, I'm going to err on the side of optimism. We'll start at the Tavern and ride west into the park and exit the north side by the river. We'll then follow the river down to the Coon Rapids Dam and back on the Rush Creek trail. The distance is around 20-24mi? (I can't remember) and the pace will average 14mph which means you will be looking at 14-16 on your speedo a lot of the time. Of course, we will be slower up the Elm Creek hills and faster down. But these are reasonable flat speeds. Please be aware of the pace and know you're abilities. This is a no drop ride, but if you ride 10mph on the flats, I'll not let you RSVP for another ride I'm hosting. It's only fair to the group. And this ride has a lot of turns.

The Dam is closed for the summer :( which means we won't be able to add on the East side loop :(

As always, I'm a fair weather rider, so check your email before heading out. Afterwards, it's breakfast at a favorite, Maple Tavern. And since we're starting there, you won't get lost :)

Helmets are REQUIRED! and so are smiles :)

Thanks JR for hosting. It was a great ride. Fun to explore a new area. Next time I'll stay for lunch at the Maple Tavern. Look forward to seeing everyone on the next ride. I'll post a picture of my water ski adventure tomorrow :)
