Headwaters 100

A fully supported century ride starting in Park Rapids and going through Itasca state park and surrounding areas/lakes. Should be a very scenic ride with fall colors in bloom. Lodging in Park Rapids, also there are numerous resorts if renting a cabin is your thing. Also, Northern Lights Casino is in Walker which is also a little over 30 minutes away....there are also places to camp nearby. Cost is only $30 up until Sept 2 then it's $35 until Sept 22 and then $40 after that. If you look at the route, you will notice there are only 3 rest stops, so don't be alarmed, we will add at least two more of our own stops along the way to help keep everyone together and keep rested/energized. I'm not going to be able to make it either now, but I will keep it posted for those who might still be planning on going

I called closest resort (fully booked) and the two hotels in town are also booked. Nearby town have cheaper accommodations. If people want to share, let me know and I will find something at reasonable distance and price. I only plan to stay Friday night and drive back after the ride Sat so Friday 27th is the only night I would book for.
I will like to book by this Friday, so please respond at earliest convenience.

I believe most of the people signing up for this will be doing the Hundred, we will be posting some training rides starting this weekend to start working up to the 100 mile distance.

Let me know if anyone looked more at lodging. To me the only hotel avai in-town is AmericanInn ($125/night for friday/Sat night). NL Casino website quotes similar rates for friday/sat night. I would be willing to share room or house/cabin (with multiple ppl).

Sounds like a great ride. No doubt it will be beautiful up there in late September.
