Located on a converted rail-trail, the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail offers 39 miles (one way) of paved trail from Faribault to Mankato. The trail leads through small towns and along farmland, woods, wetlands, and a dozen lakes including Sakatah (Dakota for "singing hills") Lake near Waterville. This will be a moderately paced endurance ride. We will probably start at a pace of 14 - 15 mph but by the end we may be down to 13 mph. (Total miles will be 78). We will pass through some small towns where we will be able to get water and hopefully some snacks to refuel with. If you would like to meet and do just a portion of the trail please post that in your RSVP so others who have the same idea may ride with you. We will meet at the trail head in Faribault. Trailhead parking is adjacent to the White Pines dog park, 900 Lyndale Ave N, Faribault, MN. Take I-35 south of Bloomington about 30 miles to Exit 59 (Co Rd 21 South), go south 1.9 miles to White Pines trailhead on the right.
