What a great time! Thank you Beth and Bryan for organizing. What a great job you guys did. A special thanks to our host, the Lincolns, for inviting us into their beautiful home.

Thanks to all who helped put the party together last night! And who put together the special cocktail menu? Amazing! Special thanks to Sandi and her husband for hosting. There was some talk of having another party in late January, possibly January 25. Any interest? If so, I would be happy to host at my home in St. Paul.

    • Bryan N

Ken, I would be happy to host (organize) a party at your place in January. I think the end of year party we just had demonstrates we don't have to be biking to have some fun.

I'm gonna bring my bike, 'cause that's how I roll. Michael's Cycles http://www.michaelscycles-mn.com rents fat bikes if anyone is interested. BTW, they had some sweet used Pugsley's for $1300 last time I was there.

Sam's Club has snow shoes for around $70 and is having a "Friends and Family Event Dec. 13, 14 & 15" where you do not need a membership, guest pass available at the service desk if any one is looking to pick up a pair, this includes poles and a bag too.

      1 · December 11, 2013

Moon will rise at 3:39 pm, sun will set at 4:32, the moon will have 97% visibility, so we may want to try for an evening snow shoe hike too.

    December 11, 2013

  • Ken B.

    I will bring some bite-sized sandwiches/appetizers.

    December 11, 2013

  • Ed

I've never snowshoe'd before. I'm trying to borrow some and give it a try. This is a no drop snowshoe hike right? :) Just kidding. Should be fun. Temps a little more moderate too.

    3 · December 11, 2013

    • Bryan N

No drop for sure unless you fall over Ed. I have snowshoes to loan out to somebody. But I won't be there until after the hike starts.

      December 11, 2013

  • Beth

Let's start the snow shoe hike leaving at 2, remember if anyone wants to shower after the hike and before the evening Gala don't forget to bring a towel.

    December 9, 2013

  • tamsie

I'm up for snowshoeing. Have a set of snowshoes I've used only once so far. Beth and Sandi, what do you need for food? My kitchen is in disarray but I can easily bring a salad or dessert. Of course, there's always Costco chocolate cake!

    1 · December 7, 2013

    • tamsie

OK bottled water and chocolate cake!

      December 8, 2013

    • Beth

      Yeah!

      December 9, 2013

  • Kristin

What time will the snowshoeing start?

    December 9, 2013

    • Beth

How does leaving for the snow shoe hike at 2 pm sound for everyone?

      December 9, 2013

  • Beth

A few questions for everyone, is anyone besides me, planning on a snow shoe hike though the golf course in the afternoon? What time would be best? The weather prediction as of now looks perfect for an outing. I would also be interested in Ice skating at the rink across the street if anyone else has skates and wants to get out for a bit before the evening indulgence, anyone else up for a skate?

We also have two Bicycle movies to watch, if you know you want to see them, should we try to set up a "show" time?

So far we have chili, Lemon Meringue pie, Key Lime pie and Brownies. Anyone else have any ideas on what they are bringing besides their appetite?

Ideas...chili "fixins", cheese, sour cream, crackers, gallon of milk for hot cocoa, I will bring hot cocoa mix. Some hot appetizers and/or dip. Popcorn for the movie.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you!

    1 · December 7, 2013

    • Leah

I can bring corn bread muffins and butter and honey. Will there be snow shoes there to rent?

      December 9, 2013

    • Beth

@ Leah, I think I can arrange for you to borrow a pair. Just bring some good boots. It may not be deep enough any way to really warrant them. If anything you could hike in the snow shoe path behind the snow shoe tracks. But I will look into getting a pair lined up for you.

      December 9, 2013

  • Bryan N

I'll be bringing pulled pork or chicken. And...... the buns :o)
