In the interest of changing things up a bit, let's move things out of Elm Creek and do the Greenway/River/Lakes loop this week! I haven't done this route all summer, and I will resume the "normal" Sunday ride in Elm Creek next week, on the 26th.
Most of you know the route: Meet at the Lake Calhoun Executive Center, take the Greenway east to the river, West River Parkway south to the Falls/Sea Salt, and then Minnehaha parkway to, and around, Lakes Harriet and Calhoun. This is a nice, casual, scenic loop of 18 miles or so, so let's keep things (relatively) slow and easy, enjoy the morning, and each others company! I think a 15 MPH pace (on the flats) should be about right, and we can stop and re-group at the usual places if/when necessary.
I am fully aware that this route can get a bit crowded later in the day, but I feel that with a 9:00 AM start we should be back before it gets too busy....
After, we can grab a bite at either Burger Jones or Chipotle.
With regards to weather, I do not mind riding in the rain when I'm alone, but I will not do a group ride in the rain. If it is raining, please consider the ride(s) to be canceled. If it's sprinkling Sunday morning, please check-in here for any last minute updates.
Lastly, all are welcome, as this will be a "no drop" ride. Those that would prefer to sprint ahead on occasion, by all means feel free to do so, but know that I will try to keep the ride at the posted (average) pace of 15 MPH.
New members: Please look for me/my car (see profile picture, silver Honda Accord) at the SW corner of the parking lot.
And "just in case", my cell number is[masked]-2189.
As always, please bring your safety gear, appropriate clothing, and a positive attitude!
