Really nice fair and the price was right. I enjoyed walking around and just seeing the sights. Food, drinks a little pricey but some reasonable variety.

I suggest for those that want to "Meetup" that we meet just inside the main entrance across from the information booth. Friday. Let's make it 5:30 so people who work until 5 have time to get there and park. Metro transit has free passes if you'd rather not mess with the parking hassle/cost. http://www.metrotransit.org/Irish-Fair

Since I work in Minneapolis and have to return home after work, 5:30 is impossible for me :( I will be there sometime this weekend though. I always take the bus (both because I don't have to pay for parking and also so I can imbibe some of the irish "refreshments" without having a problem with the police :)

OK, here is why I find the Twin cities so confusing. Harriet Island does not look like it is actually an island. And on the transit map, I think it is the area called Cherokee Regional park. Why can't they call one place by the same name on most maps? Why is it called Harriet Island?

Thank you for responding, that explains it. Just figuring out if transit makes sense. Do you know the parking cost amount for this "park"?

Usually for the Irish Fair, the closer to the venue the parking prices go up. It is also cheaper during the day than for evening, because the evening crowd is bigger. I've seen $15-20 closest to the park. I usually park over by Guild Incorporated/Subway, which I think is $10 in the evening. Wabasha & Water is the area for that also.

There is a free metro transit pass if you decide on the bus.

I would suggest meeting just inside the main entrance across from the information booth. You'll find a venue map here:
