Goodbye? Farewell? Amen? Potluck Picnic and Bonfire PS We Need an Organizer

  • Oct 12, 2013 · 3:30 PM
  • Phil's House

Our meet up organizer Andy is retiring from his post and our gathering is an opportunity to say thanks.  In his role as organizer, Andy has spent about 2 hours a week keeping the meet up going administratively.  As an event host Andy coordinated several specific outings, which can take an hour to organize and then the actual time at the event.

To continue as a Meet Up, we need someone to volunteer to assume the organizer role.  If someone does not assume the organizer responsibility, this potluck picnic and bonfire could be the "Goodbye Farewell Amen" event for this group.  MASH reference there.  In hosting the "annual" summer picnic for several years in the pre-meetup days, I met many people who continue to be good friends.

If you are interested in serving as the organizer of this meet up, please consider coming around 3:30 PM and we can have a brief meeting where Andy shares his experiences as the organizer.  Some previous organizers will be in attendance as well.   Without an organizer the group can not go on.  If you have questions please call me at[masked] 5563.

I have a buy one-get one free airline ticket offer and need to go to Chicago for a couple days on Thanksgiving week. Is anyone interested in going in on this with me?! It would make a 2 or 3 day trip to Chicago really cheap. Let me know ASAP!"

I am sure someone will step up to take over the organizer position if it is open. Be optimistic about the future and let it go.

Thanks Andy for being a great organizer and Thank you to Phil for hosting a party. I would like to stop by the party but I had booked this date for the Zombie Pub Crawl at 5pm so won't be able to attend unfortunately. Have a great day and I hope our great weather holds out Saturday for the party!

    Dear Jan,

I enjoy the luck part of Pot Luck rather than Pot Planned, but thanks for letting us know what you will be bringing. There is a grocery store four blocks away so if we really need something, we can go get it.

Fair enough comment. With no allergies to food, I do not appreciate the challenges people like my nephew face. I will have some BBQ pulled pork to offer the group.

Oops meant to include you in the list of people challenged by allergies.
