Card Game Night- Canasta

Our monthly Card Game Night continues.  This month we're going to play Canasta.  Don't worry if you don't know how as we'll be teaching everyone at the start.  One nice thing about Canasta is that it's pretty flexible on the number of players you can have.  It can be played as individuals or with partners and is thought to be a variant on the game Rummy.

This month we'll be heading to Amore Coffee (sometimes also called Cafe Amore).  This location is just south of downtown St. Paul on the other side of the High Bridge on Smith and Annapolis (not to be confused with their old location on Grand Ave.).  In addition to coffee they also offer soups and sandwiches and I can say from personal experience their food is quite good.

We'll meet at 6:30, let people gran some food or whatever to get settled in, and then we'll start explaining how to play.  It's a fun game so I hope you can join us.

I enjoyed playing Canasta even though I didn't win.

It was fun - I enjoyed learning Canasta, certainly would have liked to play another game. Or, play it again some time. I may be spoiled, however, when I play other card games it is normally for approximately 3 hours. I do want to thank David for teaching me how to play Canasta.
