Scott and I were fortunate enough to attend the September Wine dinner at Pierre's that was beyond exceptional! On Monday, November 2, 2009, Pierre's Bistro and Famiglia Meschini wines will be hosting a four-course wine dinner at 6:00pm. This meal includes the following courses in order of service :
- Prosciutto wrapped melon with balsamic syrup topped with asiago cheese
(Famiglia Meschini Sauvignon Blanc 2008)
-Roasted quail with black cherry mousse in a port wine sauce
(Famiglia Meschini Malbec Premium 2008)
-Grilled halibut with wild mushrooms and grapefruit with a beurre blanc
(Famiglia Meschini Malbec-Syrah Premium 2008 or Famiglia Meschini Chardonnay 2009)
-Our dessert is a traditional French dish, the Floating Island in vanilla sauce

I don't typically post a lot of events that are non-wine related, but this is one that I think might be of interest to some of you. Matt and Liz (and Madeline) Logelin's story is told here http://www.mattlogelin.com/ and this is how I heard about the story http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/health/18224714.html. Matt and Liz are both natives to the Twin Cities and were married at the Calhoun Beach Club. It is a wonderful venue, I know it is going to be an awesome night, Scott and I will be there and would love to see all of you there. This is a great price point for a gala as well, what a great reason to don your finest and mix and mingle with friends, new and old.

I have put together a basket on behalf of The Twin Cities Wine Enthusiasts for the Silent Auction, if anyone would like to contribute anything towards it please let me know. I am also planning on doing the walk on the 19th if anyone is interested in joining me, please let me know!

It’s a FUNd-raiser, so grab your boots and round up your friends (21+) for a night of music and fun with The Surreal McCoys at The Whiskey Junction. The Whiskey Junction has great food so be sure to come early and grab some dinner! There is plenty of parking or hop the light rail to the Franklin Avenue station right across from The Whiskey Junction.

This event will also be a great opportunity to support two of our JLM projects: Books 4 Kids, who will be collecting children’s books, and Backpack Buddies, who will be collecting non-perishable food items.

Bar Abilene has designed an evening that once again promises to be more fun than we can imagine.

On Tuesday, August 4th at 6:00 PM the bar invites you to sample an array of fine wines that will both pique and delight your curiosity as well as a smattering of some of Bar Abilene's delightful cuisine.

Admission to the wine tasting is $20 RSVP to reserve a spot. $5 of every admission will be going to The Liz Logelin Foundation.

This is going to be a great event, we are celebrating three years, it would be SO great to see everyone!!!!

Crazy hour is 4 to 6, don't forget the entire menu is 1/2 off. John is VERY good to us, lets give some back!

Time for another fun filled wine tasting theme event. This one is brought to us by House Party and they have treated us to our festive decorations as well as discounts on the wine and cheeses. SO, for this theme event, no homework AND you don't have to bring wine OR anything to share. However, there is a $12 charge per person, and you must pay this when you RSVP. As always there are a limited number of spots, if you RSVP yes and do not pay within 48 hours, I will change your RSVP to a no in order to let someone else sign up. Also, there will be 1000 hosted parties such as ours happening across the country. All who attend are eligible for a trip for two to France (they are giving away two of these trips), but you have to send me your email address so that I can send you the waiver to sign and fax in (if you don't want to do this part that is fine, better odds for me to win!). Your odds of winning this trip are better than powerball (although that would be nice too!).

Should be a lot of fun, we will have French themed music, French decor, French foods, French wines and lots of fun! We will also have two special door prizes! Wow, this is an event not to be missed!
