Meetup Description: Derek was a superhero. But, unlike other kids his age, he didn?t dress up or have to pretend. To protect his mother, this superhero often found himself starring down the barrel of his father?s rifle. It was at his father?s hand that the small boy suffered through unpredictable beatings and constant threats of his father ?blasting him away.?
This is a true story and there are many others like it?.
In Minnesota alone there 25,000 reports of child abuse each year. One in Four Families are affected by domestic, emotional and even sexual abuse. This is Minnesota?
You can do something about this. We can do something about this!
Music and Community are powerful forces!
Our Friends at First Avenue, The Onion, Kool 108, and Summit Brewing, and the Volunteer Musicians have helped Rock the Cause to create a beautiful concert called All You Need Is Love a Tribute to the Beatles that will celebrate the lives of children and the power of the imagination.
You can help by forwarding this e-mail to anyone 18+ or older that would enjoy helping children through Rock and Roll. 80% of the net concerts proceeds will be directed to Free Arts Minnesota. Rock the Cause has spent about $1000 on this show. A good crowd means a great deal of net!
Rock the Cause is working day and night to help bring awareness to and support to causes that impact our local and global communities.
We can not do this with out you!
