UAE Wargames/Boardgames Group

The main location of the group is in Dubai, but we are also active in Abu Dhabi.
This group is about Boardgames and Wargames, which are two different types of games.

A Boardgame is, by definition, a game played on a board, as the famous Chess, Risk or Monopoly, but hundreds of them exist (Ticket to Ride, Puerto Rico, Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, Caylus, El Grande, Maharaja,...) with different themes, mechanics (luck/strategy balance) and difficulty levels.

A wargame is a game that deals with military operations of various types, real or fictional, as Avalon Hill's Panzerblitz, Rommel in the Desert, Twilight Struggle...

Pitchoun is now the boardgames organizer, and as she lives in Abu Dhabi, the boardgames sessions will be divided between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The group is looking for a Wargame organizer in Dubai, somebody who knows war-games, owns at least a few of them and ready to give time to organize regular sessions and teach newbies. If interested, please send an email to Basem or Pitchoun.

Both newbies and experienced players are welcome. Even people who are new to the hobby are encouraged to sign up.

We are used to meet at Gloria Jean's Coffee, Ibn Battuta Mall, entrance in front of the balloon, but any other suggestion for a venue will be welcome. The venue has to have large tables with good lighting, good beverage service and be relatively quiet, and be located in the South of Dubai (Emirates mall, greens, Meadows...)
