The U.S. FreedomWalk Festival® is a weekend-long social walking challenge bringing participants of all ages and abilities together for exercise, fun, and international friendship. Each day features a different walk available only on that day.
This non-competitive walking sport event is called volksmarching. It's a walk for fitness and fellowship only with the chance to learn something about the U.S. and about other walkers from around the world.
• Friday, October 18
Experience Arlington, Virginia hospitality with a Welcome Walk west of the Potomac River. Friday’s trails are five and 10 km long. Arlington was named the “Number 1 Walking City in 2005” by the American Podiatric Society.
• Saturday, October 19
Saturday’s walks (3, 6, 12, or 27 miles) go by the embassies, memorials, the National Mall, all three branches of the federal government, and Arlington Cemetery.
The 27-mile ultra marathon travels around some of the best trails in Arlington after visiting Washington, DC!
• Sunday, October 20
Sunday’s walks (3, 6, 12, or 18 miles) branch out to the C&O Canal and other parks depending on the distance selected by the participants.
Everyone is welcome! Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration: Required online or at the starting location beginning at 12 noon on Friday, October 18 for an additional fee
