Veterans Townhall: Reforming the Dept. of Veterans Affairs

When it comes to serving our veterans, the VA Reno Regional Benefit Office has the worst record in the nation. At the Reno Office roughly 6,396 veterans are awaiting for their Veterans Affairs disability compensation claims, with 66.5% backlogged for more than 125 days. It also takes an average of 392 days to complete the claim. Nationally, 660,580 veterans are awaiting for their Veterans Affairs disability compensation claims and 57.2% backlogged 125 days. Veterans’ waiting in line for claims—sometimes for years—is utterly unacceptable.

Panelists will include Pete Hegseth, CEO of Concerned Veterans for America, and Darin Selnick, Military Advisor to Concerned Veterans for America and former assistant to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
Note: Additional panelists to be named very soon.

This event, sponsored by CVA’s Nevada chapter, is the first in our 2014 policy state series entitled Defend & Reform: Defending Freedom by Advancing Reform.

Registration is free and dinner will be served. To RSVP visit HERE.

The meeting was great. The speakers gave a very informative talk on how the VA was not giving the services many of our veterans deserve and solutions to those problems of making the VA more accountable and introducing competition. The question and answer session was particularly interesting when several veterans spoke of their experiences with the bureaucracy at the VA.
