Hello Everybody - I just wanted to bring everybody up to date on the next Agenda Hearing where we will most likely see a vote on any preliminary order that has been written up by the PUCN concerning:

a.) The type of meter the PUCN will order NVE to use for opt out customers.

b.) The fees (if any) associated with opting out of smart meters.

The PUCN told me late yesterday afternoon that there is going to be a special Agenda Hearing dedicated to the opt out fees under docket # [masked] at 9:30am on Tuesday Nov. 27th at both Carson City and Las Vegas PUCN Headquarters.  I will monitor the PUCN calendar for updates, but because of the Thanksgiving Holiday and the requirement to have a copy of the preliminary order to us 3 days prior to the hearing, we will most likely see a copy of the preliminary order by November 20th, which is the Tuesday before the Thanksgiving Holiday. I will follow-up if there are any other changes.

Will be in touch with any developments,

Mike

Also, here is an opportunity to serve in the communities listed below:

Applicants Sought for Town Advisory Boards, Citizens Advisory Councils

Clark County is looking for interested residents of unincorporated towns to serve on their local advisory boards for the next two years.

The County is currently accepting applications for Town Advisory Boards (TABs) in Bunkerville, Searchlight, Enterprise, Indian Springs, Laughlin, Mt. Charleston, Paradise, Spring Valley, Sunrise Manor, Moapa, Moapa Valley, Whitney and Winchester; and Citizens Advisory Councils (CACs) in Goodsprings, Lone Mountain, Lower Kyle Canyon, Mountain Springs, Red Rock and Sandy Valley.

TABs that are responsible for matters affecting District E include the following: Applicants must be eligible to vote, live within the area encompassed by the TAB or CAC they are applying for and attend annual training. Applications are due by Dec. 7, and are available through the County website and at the Administrative Services Department on the 6th floor of the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, in downtown Las Vegas. TAB and CAC secretaries will also have applications available.

The County Commission appoints the members of the volunteer boards and councils to two-year terms. The next terms will begin Jan. 7, 2013. All appointees must be available for training on Jan. 12, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The TABs and CACs serve an important advisory and liaison function relaying concerns and other important information between unincorporated towns and the County government. The boards and councils hold public meetings at least once a month to discuss and make recommendations on long-term planning, zoning changes, public works projects, County programs and ordinances that may affect their town
