Tell Your Senator To Stop Health Care Plan Cancellations

Tell Your Senator To Stop Health Care Plan Cancellations And To Reintroduce Senator Mike Enzi's Resolution S.J. Res. 39 (111th Congress) To The Senate Floor

In 2010, Senate Democrats voted unanimously against S.J. Res. 39, in the 111th Congress, a resolution that blocked OvamaCare from cancelling 90 million Americans' health insurance policies.

The Resolution, S.J. Res. 39 (111th Congress), "Disapproves the rule submitted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) relating to status as a Grandfathered Health Plan" was proposed by Republican Senator Mike Enzi of Wyoming and introduced in the U.S. Senate on September 21, 2010.

Attached is a copy of the resolution. Note that it is only two pages. No Democrat can say that they didn't have time to read the bill to know what was in it.

Debate on the Resolution was held on September 29, 2010. Democrat Al Franken of Minnesota presided.

Senator Enzi opened the debate: "Mr. President, the debate today is about keeping the promise. The authors of the health care plan promised the American people that if they liked their current health care plan the could keep it. At least on 47 separate occasions President Obama promised if you like what you've got you can keep it. Unfortunately the Obama Administration has broken that promise. Earlier this year the administration published a regulation that will fundamentally change the health care plans of millions of Americans. The reality of this regulation is that if you like what you have, you can't keep it...Most businesses, the administration estimates, between 39 and 69% will not be able to keep the coverage they have...according to the administration, in small business up to 80% of the people, unless this resolution is passed, will lose the insurance they have and like."

Every Senate Democrat knew that the regulations submitted by the Department of Health and Human Services into the Federal Register on June 17, 2010 would cause the cancellation of millions of Americans' health care policies, but still voted against the resolution, while every Senate Republican voted for the resolution, with the exception of Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, who was not present for the vote.

Republicans voted to insure Americans would keep their heath care plans as the president had promised, while every Democrat did not.

Call, email or write your Senator and tell them to reintroduce Senator Enzi's 2010 Resolution
S.J. Res. 39 (111th Congress) and vote for its passage. Here is the contact information for U.S. Senators:

Here are two emails I sent to my Senators, one to Democrat Harry Reid, the other to Republican Dean Heller.

Dear Senator Reid,

Millions of Americans are receiving health care policy cancellations and a vast majority are now aware that their health care premiums will be going up, not down, for coverage on the ObamaCare exchanges that has higher deductibles and coverage that most Americans don't want or need. We now know that Obama's promises that "you can keep our plan, period" and that our premiums would go down by $2,500 were total fabrications.

We are also finding out that you and every Democrat Senator voted on September 29, 2010 against Senator Mike Enzi's Resolution S.J. Res. 39, that would have blocked the HHS rules adopted on June 17, 2010 that took away the grandfather status for over 90 million American's health plans.

Senator, you know it and I know it. Senator Enzi introduced the resolution on September 21 and you rolled out your hacks Dodd, Baucus, Harkin and Durbin to debate the resolution on the Senate floor and lie to the American people. Dodd is gone and soon Baucus and Harkin will be gone as well.

I suggest that you bring the Enzi resolution back to the floor of the Senate and urge its passage. If not, I believe that you will go the way of Dodd, Baucus and Harkin.

Thank you,

Ronald Solomon

Dear Senator Heller,

I would like to thank you for your opposition to ObamaCare.

We are also finding out that every Democrat Senator voted on September 29, 2010 against Senator Mike Enzi's Resolution S.J. Res. 39, that would have blocked the HHS rules adopted on June 17, 2010 that took away the grandfather status for over 90 million American's health plans, while you and every Republican voted for the resolution.

The Democrats debating against the resolution were Dodd, Baucus, Harkin and Durbin. Dodd is gone, soon Buacus and Harkin will be gone as well.

I suggest that you and your Republican colleagues bring the Enzi resolution back to the Senate floor and expose Reid and his Democrat friends for exactly what they are.

Thank you once again for your fighting the good fight for millions of Americans,

Ronald Solomon
