Thousands have pledged to gather at Freedom Plaza beginning on October 6 to nonviolently disrupt the disloyal, incompetent, and corrupt special interests which have usurped our nation?s civil and military power, spawning a host of threats to our liberty, lives and national security.

The October2011 Movement protests corporatism and militarism because they prevent solutions to our current crises which would create a more peaceful, just, and sustainable world from being implemented. Instead concentrated corporate interests rule our elections and political process so that wealth continues to be funneled to the top 1%.

US Day of Rage is calling for free and fair elections, not elections manipulated by the economic elite, special interests, or corporate media, where choices are limited to bought candidates and two corrupt parties. US Day of Rage is organizing with OccupyWallStreet to create a tent city in the financial district of New York beginning on September 17. October2011 and OccupyWallStreet have endorsed each others? actions.

Legitimate government is born of the people expressed by its citizens in free and fair elections. It does not spring from a tyranny of special interests, crony capitalism, or a system or ideology that runs counter to the aims of life.

Free and fair elections inspire good citizenship and public service, because they engage the intelligence and genuine good will of the American people. They produce the kind of stewardship our nation desperately needs, because they ensure that citizens can influence their destiny, and make genuine contributions to society unlike our present system where the government moves in directions the majority of Americans oppose putting the profits of campaign donors ahead of the wishes of the American people.

Free and fair elections are steps towards remediating the myriad ills and abuses of a corrupt and illegitimate government, which preys on the resources and spirits of citizens, and violates rights of the other peoples and nations.

The October2011 Movement and US Day of Rage know that abuses of the people and planet will end when we take unified and persistent action. We stand in solidarity with each other and with the growing nonviolent movements around the nation and world to call for democratization of our society.

You guys I am sorry I didn't make it. You are my hero's I swear you are. The truth is my mom has had 2 strokes this year and she is on 11 different meds that medicare didn't cover for her The plavix alone was $300 dollars. My husband works really hard for wal- mart and gets $500 every 2 weeks but you guys all know how bad things are. I have 2 kids at home and with my mom needs constant care. medicare had home nurses coming but they had to stop . Anyway I can't come, yet. Stay strong!

They are cleaning the protesters out of the park in NYC at 7am est in the morning. There is a petition going around to try and stop this from happening. http://www.civic.moveon.org...

I am absolutely heartbroken that I can't make it tonight but the person that was coming and had the extra gas money can't come and I have to make sure I keep enough to be there Saturday. Sorry guys but I am with you in spirit. Just sign me up for whatever I can do to help next Saturday like I said I have had CPR Heartsaver training, I will do sanitation or food or I can just stand there with a sign It doesn't matter to me. Just let me know.

Okay everyone. I've been in DC over the past 3 days and their occupation is going very well. I had CJ announce our first general assembly. It will be held tomorrow. I need everyone to start considering which committees they wish to be a part of. I'll be doing the medical team, and if any have prior medical experience, please contact me. I'll provide any volunteers with street medic training. We will also need sanitation, media, legal, food, and any other committees others wish to form.

Landon Wilson asked me to post a request for a General Assembly this saturday Oct. 8th @ Smith Park. Time neeeds to be discussed. He's been in DC and spent time with their General Assembly. I also think this is a NECESSARY step for #OccupyJackson and #OccupyMississippi. so please add coments to this post about time suggestions or restrictions

- You can start a meetup page and a facebook page to start then leave it open and get ideas from the people in your are that want to join. You guys can decide on a good place and then just let the word spread. Good Luck!

- Sounds good to me. And agreed on the comment of someone suggesting violence. There should be no place for it. Past political rallies and protests I have been to showed me the media will jump on those types of comments and then the real message is lost.

Permit applied for this morning. I spent a couple of hours handing out flyers in downtown Jackson afterwards and for the people who said noone is downtown on the weeekend there really wasn't many there today.... but I did realize that the Mississippi State Fair starts this weekend and ends on the 16th. If you are going to the fair pass out flyers!!! also If people were around the fair entrances on the 15th with posters about the protest maybe we'll get some traffic from the fair!!

I just want to clarify that you do indeed have to have a permit to rally on both the Capitol grounds and in the Smith park

You can go here to get the specifics to better understand why we are getting them. We want to be as respectful and compliant as possible while still making or point. I also do not like day of rage but that was already set up when I started as the second person in this campaign.

Announcement:
I used to work for AT&T in downtown Jackson and I reported AT&T violations to an internal whistleblower line. I used the internal line because I believed in what I was told the company was. A few weeks ago The US Dept. of Labor issued a ruleing that Whistleblowers who use an internal line were as protected as those who called a Gov't Entity.
On & not before, Oct. 15th @OccupyJackson for the 1st time I will publicly "Whistleblow" several of AT&T's illegal activities.

- Smith Park is next to the Gov Mansion on the corner of Amite Street and N Congress. the Gov Mansion is on the same crossroad. Take I 55 to High St. 6th LIGHT turn left on State St. at the @nd LIGHT turn right onto Amite and it's 3 blocks down

- Yes it is between them. I was thinking we meet up there since it is a public park so we can organize and talk to the people and get everybody ready. I didn't get a chance to speak to someone about the park but the number to the mayors office is [masked] that is the number WAPT gave me to get the info on the park. So if you get that one I will get the Capitol grounds permit. I also have the list of rules for rallying at the Capitol grounds I will e-mail them to you.

Just a few suggestions for good places to hand out info.
Employment offices hand them to job seekers or see if you can put one on the msg board that most offices have.
Unemployment offices, welfare offices, laundromats, collages and the guy at the gas pump next to you that looks pissed at the $60 he just put in his tank. Just be careful when handing out info guys you have to make sure you aren't breaking any rules and always ask before hanging something up.
