The prominence of analytics and data science has grown rapidly over the past few years. Companies across nearly every industry are investing heavily in data infrastructure and analytics. As the companies move to adopt more and more complex models and strategies with big data, they sometimes lose sight of the value and impact of good reporting. This talk will illustrate the importance of investing in good reporting as well as how to sell partner teams, corporate leaders, and the analysts themselves on why reporting is sexy.
Dan Voorhies is the Director of Analytics at Trulia, an online real estate marketplace. His team helps Trulia create the best overall experience for consumers and real estate professionals through detailed web analytics, A/B testing, and predictive modeling. In Dan’s prior role as Director of Analytics at Zynga, he used massive amounts of social gaming data to help optimize gameplay, user retention, and monetization. Before Zynga, he spent five years working in telecom market research at Telephia and The Nielsen Company. Dan earned his B.S. in physics at UC Santa Barbara.
