Using clickstream analysis to demystify features of Gilt.com

Roger Huang, resident data evangelist at Gilt.com, will be showing us how he uses clickstream data to answer the big questions – what features should be embraced or retired? How can you tell the buying intention of a user? It will be a great chance to see the detailed inner workings of how data effects the UX of a high-traffic site.

This event will be run in conjunction with the NY CSS/UX Meetup!

Thanks for everyone who attended today. Unfortunately, we were not able to record the talk or post the slides. The next best thing may be to watch a related presentation "Data driven personalization at Gilt" http://tech.gilt.com/post/87133...

Unfortunately, the slides contain a significant amount of raw data that is proprietary to Gilt and not intended to be floating around in the open.

I'm not an IP lawyer, but once it's shown at a meetup (and everyone is free to take snapshots of the slides) it can no longer be considered proprietary. I don't have a particular need for those slides, but it's always nice to analyze OPD.

Valuable insights. Does anyone have a recommendation for a system to retain and/or analyze clickstream data?

Elliot, the first step always is the basic web logs that your site produces. That's the raw data that you can then transform and analyze over and over till you see the patterns that start to make sense.

It would be great if this presentation is recorded. There are people who have last minute cancellation but really want to learn and benefit a lot from this....
Also, would be great if slides can be put up... Pl. let us know….
