Practical UX Design - Prototyping

Hi,

There are changes to the UX Joburg meetup programme on Saturday.

Based on feedback from peers we will limit talking and focus on practical hands on activities. That means there'll be a lot of 'doing'... that's designing stuff. Reading and hearing about UX is good, but nothing beats hand-on practical stuff. We'll use Saturday to learn, practice and hone our UX Design skills.

Agenda:

  • Welcome (10mins)
  • Introduction - Brief talk about rapid prototyping and user testing (20mins)
  • Workshop - Prototyping and Testing (Design Challenge) (1hour)
  • Wrap Up - next meet up? (10mins)

Notes:

  • Light refreshments and snacks will be provided. (Thanks ThoughtWorks)
  • Free parking at Arbour Square parking garage (make sure you get a stamp from me before you leave)
  • Contact me for any help on[masked] (or at Twitter @robenslin)
  • Use the hashtag #uxjoburg for any meetup-related tweets

Great meetup guys! Being a non-UX person, I was worried that it might be alienating but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was informative and engaging. Well done!

The pressed-for-time benefitted us in keeping extremely focused. The practical aspect was great.

Hi guys, we don't have a huge of folk attending this weekend's meeting, so would like to hear from you whether we should:
    a. Continue with this Saturday's meeting and keep it small or
    b. Postpone it for a next Saturday or in 2 week's time.

    Please let me know...

    Thanks,
    -- Rob

P.S. If I don't hear from anyone I'll postpone it.

Guys, I've postponed the meetup till the 24th November. I will see if I can find a few more interested folk. By the way, there is a UX meetup on 14th at 6.30pm at Odd Cafe in Greenside. Would be great see you there.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
