Map the experience - a UX workshop (meetup)

**Update

Here's the plan: we are going to map the customers journey through the business, they have a very unique place, with a bar/dance floor, restaurant that is a trailer inside the warehouse, boxing ring, full retail store etc etc. Just a great spot. So don't be intimidated I want to do this as a way to meet new folks and work through and learn together about the process. We've probally all done versions of this but I thought it would be cool to do it with people from all walks of life. I've spoke with the folks there and they said we can interview the workers to get data. I also want to look at Yelp and come up with a list of business problems that we can solve by analyzing our output (experience map).

They have amazing drinks too so we can lube up and have a good time while walking through this exercise.

If you have experience with it, please volunteer to talk about your process/experience/successes!

And if you want to reach out to me to help with the planning/leading please do so![masked] or [masked]

Thanks!

Tony

Guys sorry for the slacking on getting up the info and photo's on the workshop.. I had a family tragedy on top of the holidays. I'll try and find some time in the next week or so to get it up. Is there any volunteers for doing design on high-mid range design for the map(s)?

Unfortunately had to leave mid-way because of a last-minute meeting, but I really enjoyed the little bit that I was there ... working through the steps in a group definitely helped get more ideas together :)

Make sure to all that RSVP'd give feedback to us on your experience of the meet up and for those that didn't come why you opted not to come.

Well it wasn't because of cold feet, I started a new position today, and needed to prepare for it. I will be checking the calendar for future events.

Thanks for organizing the event! The whole night was definitely an “experience”…and I now know I can successfully maneuver back-in angle parking. Working through the exercise with the group was interesting and enjoyable. Looking forward to more interaction with the local UX community.

By the way everyone I created a Facebook group called Phoenix Web Designers & Developers for people to share ideas, learn from each other and network. Here's the link if anyone is interested in joining:

Question for the group: A startup I advise needs a UX orientated front-end developer for a full-time position. They are in tempe and are doing some really cool work, email me for details or ask me tomorrow about the position.

This couldn't be better timing - I'm in the middle of an experience mapping initiative where I work. Interested to learn more and get some advice

Didn't realize that you were currently working this approach at your work. I hope, we were able to give you the advice that you needed. Feel free to reach out to either Tony and I and we can assist you further.

Can't agree more about the timing. I am looking forward to being able to chat with people in the field. I just hope I don't get cold feet.

This should not be anything people have answers to. We are all practicing UX and learning together. So no need to get cold feet. This workshop is meant to be a fun learning and social experience.
