LA UPA Elections! Call for Officer Candidates and Volunteers!

From: user 4.

It’s time for LA-UPA Officer elections!

The Usability Professionals’ Association (UPA) supports people who research, design, and evaluate the user experience (UX) of products and services. Learn more about the UPA.

The Los Angeles UPA Chapter Officers serve the community as representatives of UPA International and advocates of user-centered design (UCD). We do this is by organizing quarterly events on topics important to the Chapter.

Upcoming Elections

Elections are being held for all Officer roles. This is a great opportunity to get involved with an international organization at the local level, have fun, meet other usability professionals, and learn a lot about engaging with the community about usability-related topics.

While anyone in our Meetup group/Chapter may vote, you must be a UPA International member to run for office. To join, go to:

For those interested in leading our chapter, we are combining the President and Vice President election. This means that anyone interested in either role will essentially be running for both. The person with the most votes will assume the role of President and the runner-up will assume the role of Vice President.

If you are interested in running for any role, please read the descriptions below and be prepared to commit yourself through 2012. Then, submit the Officer Candidate form here:

Candidate submissions are due by March 1.

Elections will be held online the week of March 5.

Elected Officers will begin right away working with the current Officers. Full transition to the role will be a few weeks after that.

Continued guidance will be available from Kathryn Campbell, our Past President.
