Uke Can Open Mic

  • The Nazarene Church

This will be our last gathering of the year!  Bring finger foods, or something to share.  The food will be set up in the foyer.  We will be jamming Christmas songs primarily.  If you want to play a special number, it does not have to be a seasonal song.  Please do not sing a medley as we will have a number of people who want to have time to do something themselves.  Three to four minutes should suffice for just about any song.

Song-lists will be sent out a few days before, and you will be able to find the songs in the Files section. Download, print, and bring your own copies with you. Bring your ukulele and a stand. Please feel free to invite a guest, who may enjoy listening or even joining in. A $3 contribution is appreciated to help me defray the costs of running this club.

I attempted to record the performances on my "smarter than me phone" which is something I have never done before. Now I have to figure out how to post them on Youtube. Stay tuned, my friends!

Ronnie did a great job on his first ever solo. He championed his way through with easy aplomb. Marlene did Amazing Grace. Timothy did a different rendition of a Christmas classic. Dave and Timothy accompanied the lovely hula dancers. Mike pulled out a song from his endless repertoire. Dennis and I sang a duet. There was stuffed peppers, homemade fudge and mince pies, tasty little hot dogs, rolled delicacies and hot chocolate. Lots of smiles. A great way to end the year with ukulele friends!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
