When I was a kid, maybe 9 or 10, I wanted and got a little red ukulele from Woolworths for Christmas. I'm not sure what drew me to it, but I think the old ukulele book I found in my dad's garage greatly influenced me. And playing four strings didn't seem too hard.
Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Jake Shimabukuro, Sarah Maisel, Kris Fuchigami, Ralph Shaw, Victoria Vox. More to come...
Twelve so far. One I inherited from my husband's family, nine were purchased, and my favorite is a custom DaSilva that I won at the 2011 Reno Ukefest when I was a newbie. My ukulele fate was sealed that day...
Good music is good music, regardless of age or genre.
In my youth, I taught myself to play basic ukulele and guitar from books. Fifty+ years later I retired, found this group (thank you Lynn), and my life has never been the same.
I found this group four years ago and my life has never been the same! Great friends and lots and LOTS of fun!!! I love you, Lynn Weaver!!!
