The Ukulele Club of Las Vegas
Brook Adams Workshop/Concert
This event is for all skill levels.
It is a privilege to have someone like Brook come and share his talent, skills and insight with us. If we, the Las Vegas ukulele (music) community, will support these types of events through our participation and attendance, we will have more outstanding ukulele artists come in the future.
Brook Adams: “Guitar ain't nuthin' but a Big Ukulele” and Brook Adams rocks the house on both instruments. He plays a cartoon mix of 20th century music with funky soul rhythms and a smoky tenor voice. His own songs are influenced by the Beatles, Dr. John, Louis Jordan, Django Reinhardt, and the Three Stooges.
Adams teaches and records in Eugene, Oregon. He is known for his oneman/oneuke performance of the Beatles “Abbey Road” album and more recently, a ukecentric version of Marvin Gaye's “What's Goin' On”. He has recorded eight albums, the last two with his regular group, the Swingin' Marmalukeys. He has played festivals and toured from California to New York and a few rather odd places too. He is cofounder of the Eugene UKEtoberFest ukulele festival.
