There will be a tent set up at Floriade this year to promote Brand Canberra, and all of the city's main attractions will be there from time to time, contributing to getting more people to visit Canberra.
The National Folk Festival Director has asked us help to promote the NFF as one of Canberra's major attractions. The format will be similar to what we did for the Connect and Participate Expo at the Bus Depot Markets.
We are required on two days: Sunday 14 September at 2-4pm and Wednesday 17 September at 10am- 12 noon. [If you can come along please RSVP for one or for both days.]
For the Sunday session we are asked to perform for 30 minutes at 2pm, then take a half hour break while another group (dance group) performs, and then another 30 minute performance at 3pm and stay around for half an hour to show ukuleles (we'll need to bring extra ukes) to the public and answer questions, and generally promote community music/ukes in particular.
We will select the songs for performance from our rehearsal/playlists for upcoming and recent events and will post these shortly.
[Note this means we are definitely going to be invited to run the Uke Muster again at the 2015 National Folk Festival…more on this later.]
