Nerang Uke N Sing Along October

This is the Uke N Sing Along format on the second Wednesday of the month at Nerang, with the  lyrics and  chords projected onto a large screen.

Sorry for the late notice of the October song list. My plane landed today, but I'm still waiting for the rest of me to catch up.

I'll be trialling a new 'Karaukey' format tomorrow night. The words and music will still be projected onto a big screen but will include  minimalist backing we can play and sing along with karaoke style. Most of the songs I've  prepared so far have appeared in the song books already on the website available for download.

Eg

Bad Moon Rising (G)

Ballad of John and Oko (G)

Black Velvet Band (G)

California Dreaming (Am)

Somewhere Over the Rainbow/Wonderful World (C)

Candida (D)

Red Red Wine (C)

Don't Think Twice (G)

Have You Ever Seen The Rain (C)

Knocking on Heaven's Door (G)

I Can See Clearly Now (A)

In The Summer Time (G)

It's a Heartache (G)

Jambalya (C)

Lay Down Sally (A)

Lucille (Toledo) (C)

Mellow Yellow (C)

Mustang Sally (C)

Should be a lot of fun. See you tomorrow if you can  make it.

The preamble starts at 6.00 pm. The evenings strum and sing along session will start at 6.30 pm.

We are open to singers and players at all levels from beginners to advanced players. Or you can just sit back and enjoy the music.

There is a $5 fee for players.

I will bring  a couple of extra ukes, for anyone who might like to try one. If you have a uke and are just starting out Click "More"  then  Click "Files"  and work your way through some of the Quick play files starting at number 1, to get you started.

The club has very reasonably priced meals and drinks available.

Please bring your friends and bring your ukes or other acoustic instruments, to keep it happening at Nerang.

Wow, Henk! Loved the new software, and, as always, had a great, uplifting musical night with some very friendly, happy people. The spontaneous jam at the end of the night was pure gold!

I went along for the first time not really knowing what to expect. I thoroughly enjoyed every single aspect of the evening. The folk were friendly and we all wore smiles, tapped our feet and sang along. All the uke players, the banjo player and the mouth organ player were very clever. It was so nice for me at the end of the evening to play a tune on my ancient accordion while some folk strummed. I certainly hadn't expected to play it, but had taken it along to show Henk. I came home feeling happy and will look forward to next month's session. Thanks to everybody.

I don't have a ukulele and haven't tried playing for years, so can't really play, but like music. I have a button accordion I've had for years and years, but it still plays! I'm a 'Senior' so wondered what the age range is in your group. Thanks.

Hi Judi... You'll be amongst your peers. Geriatrics abound! Lots of fun.

Hi Cate. Thanks for the compliment! I'd love to be able to actually talk to someone about the group. Is this possible?
