This is the KaraUkey Sing Along format on the second Wednesday of the month at Nerang, with the lyrics and chords projected onto a large screen. The January meetup will feature some traditional Australian songs and we will jam along with Judi on her squeeze box in the middle part of the evening.
A lot of the traditional Australian songs are fairly easy to play, including Botany Bay, Wild Colonial Boy and the Queensland Drover, songs like Home Among the Gum Trees., Men At Work's Down Under and Still Call Australia Home are a little more challenging.
The full list is on the www.KaraUkey.com website which now includes a Tenner Oz book containing the Oz songs and a few others, for a total of twelve songs (A Tenner plus 2 bonus songs).
The whole thing is usually a bit of fun. See you there if you can make it.
The preamble starts at 6.00 pm. The evenings strum and sing along session will start at 6.30 pm.
We are open to singers and players at all levels from beginners to advanced players. Or you can just sit back and enjoy the music.
There is a $5 fee for players.
I will bring a couple of extra ukes, for anyone who might like to try one. If you have a uke and are just starting out Click "More" then Click "Files" and work your way through some of the Quick play files starting at number 1, to get you started.
The club has very reasonably priced meals and drinks available.
Please bring your friends and bring your ukes or other acoustic instruments, to keep it happening at Nerang.
