Hike/Snowshoe: Rockefeller State Park Preserve in Westchester County

Terrain: Mostly flat but not a beginner hike with the recent snow fall
Distance: 2 miles
Pace: Relaxed/We decide the pace while enjoying the views
Welcome: All experienced hikers
***We are NOT hikers in a hurry. We aim to enjoy the views and each other's company. Please attend hike if you do not want to race.*** It's snowshoeing time. FUN!!! FUN!!! FUN!!!! Feel free to attend with your microspikes/stabilizers/yak traxs. I just bought my first pair of snowshoes. I want to get out there any enjoy the recent snow fall. In order to get used to snowshoeing, it would be nice to go for a short hike. I imagine there will be enough snow by Friday to snowshoe but bring your microspikes, etc just in case their isn't. FYI - Hiking in the snow is harder than a regular hike. Let's meet at the parking lot, head to Blue Hill Cafe for a snack break/lunch, then head back to the parking lot. If there isn't a lot of snow, we can extend the hike. If there's a lot of snow, 2 miles will be a long enough trip which will provide a good workout. What to bring:
-$6 Parking fee per car or free with Empire Passport
-Water, layers of comfortable clothing, hiking boots, lunch, snacks, snowshoes or other traction devices

Cancellation notice:
I will be monitoring the weather prior to the event and if conditions do not look good, the event is subject to cancellation. Please make sure to check your email/site prior to leaving your house the cancellation notices will be sent by 9 am, if required.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
