savings time is here! That means we can play about an hour longer before
worrying about light. This week also marks the 3 year anniversary of this
pickup game, so thanks to everybody who has come out to play and made this game
for Ultimate on Tues, March 12 is mid 60s daytime high and some chance of
rain. Weather plan is we play unless it is storming or raining hard at
game time, and everybody makes their own call about showing up. It
sometimes rains during the day and stops by game time. *I can’t make it
this week and will not be in Williamsburg Tuesday, so please don’t call me for
weather updates. Brian Wells will have the gear.
Reminder: Spring sports teams are starting up and taking more of the turf
fields so we may be bouncing to different fields each week. Look for us on
any of the turf fields first (even unlit fields), or possibly the grass fields
if you can’t find us on any of the 6 turf fields.
(Let me know if you want to be removed from this weekly
We started this weekly Ultimate Frisbee pickup game in March 2010 for fun and exercise. Come on out if you've played a lot or if you've never played at all - we are open to all skills levels as long as you're willing to run. We have beginners and experienced players who play in multiple leagues.
We play every Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM all year 'round in the heat or cold. We pay for field lights in the winter when we can, otherwise we use lighted discs and lights around our necks in the dark. The only time we don't play on our regular Tuesdays is if it is storming or raining heavily at game time or if it is a major holiday. We've played in rain, heat, darkness, and once in 3 inches of snow. We have red and yellow pinnies to wear for teams, but please bring one red and one yellow or bright green shirt if you can.
We may be on a different field each week, so look around for us on either the turf or grass fields.
Also, we use this Meetup site for people to initially find us but not so much for communication and to actually show who attends. So don't worry that this site shows only 1 or 2 people attending - since late summer 2010 we've always had enough to play.
