ULTIMATE FRISBEE SCRIMMAGE PICKUP @ South Chagrin Polo Fields

  • South Chagrin Polo Fields

Chagrin River Rd and State Route 87 South Chagrin Reservation, Chagrin Falls, OH, 44022 , Moreland Hills, OH (map)

    41.447830 -81.427612

  • Main parking lot at the north end of the field. When you pull in you will see a HUGE field and a picnic table. We usually drop our stuff off at the table and circle up in the field.
  • Notes for Thursday's game:

Sorry guys, I'm going to have to cancel. If it was JUST snow I wouldnt mind playing, but the roads are really bad, and it's a really heavy wet rain/snow mix. We won't have the numbers to play and even if we did we'll either get hypothermia or tear up the field... or both. Hopefully We'll get some good weather for our last week at the polo fields next week! see you all Tuesday.

Forecast: Late Afternoon Rain and snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. High near 40. West wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Come join the fun and play some Ultimate Frisbee

with a great group of fun, friendly, and outgoing people!!!

    Where:

We meet every Tuesday and Thursday during the late spring-fall months at the: SOUTH CHAGRIN POLO FIELDS

    (Moreland Hills, Ohio)

41198 South Woodland Road, Moreland Hills, OH.

We toss around for about 15 minutes and start playing at around 6:45pm. We will put late comers on a team after the next point is scored.

When pulling in look for this sign

I will bring all the equipment needed to play the game. If you have equipment that you might think is useful please feel free to bring it (ie:cones, discs, etc.).

If you think you can make it rsvp. If you can't no big deal.

Time: 6:30-dark or too tired to keep going. We'll toss discs around for about 15 minutes before we get started. The games go by quickly, and we can usually get a couple of games in. So if you want to sit out for a few points to rehydrate or rest that's obviously fine.

The game is not hard to catch on to what-so-ever (On the "about" page I have put some information up on how to play & a video etc.). Rules can be explained at the meetup If need be.

If you have an extra buck or two to contribute every once-and-a-while there will be a donation jar on the picnic table. This helps to offset the fee charged by meetup for posting on their site. Don't feel any obligation to do this however. If we get more money than the what meetup charges ($15/mo) we can put the additional funds to stuff like  equipment, cones, markers, scrimmage vests, and other miscellaneous equipment.

    Checklist:

-Dress for the weather. Cleats/Running Shoes/Some people play barefoot. Just be careful about people stepping on your feet. Depending on past weather the field can be a bit muddy so plan accordingly

-Stay Hydrated! Water is available on site but it tastes a bit treated. If that bothers you make sure to bring you own

If you have any questions don't hesitate to send me a message.

    Thanks,

    -Tim Curran

Pulling the plug, sorry guys. Check out the forecast in the notes section up top, even if it seems fine where you are, out in the snow belt, things are getting WILD! Hopefully I'll see you all Tuesday.

Don't think I'll be able to make it. Was in a rush this morning and forgot my Frisbee bag. It'll be dark by the time I get there after work

No problem, the weather report is NOT favorable. Unfortunately I think we're going to have to cancel...

for those who have RSVP'd: It's pretty rough out there today, there was 5 inches of snow on the ground as of this morning (right down the road from the polo fields), and the temps aren't looking like they're going to get much higher than 40 (if that). It's not looking promising. I'll be close by around 5 and will give the word at that time. If the ground is dry(ish) and the weather is stable, we might be able to play, but I doubt that we'll have enough people to get a game going. Check back here before coming out tonight, I'll make the call around 5.
