**Ultimate Frisbee Pickup Game**
*Thanks for the great turnout last Saturday & Sunday. We had about 18 people each day even though the rsvp page says less.**
Sunday Nov 18th @ 2pm(Save the Date!!!)
Still taking advantage of the nice weather. Temps suppose to be in the low 50's and Sunny :) Might want to wear sweats though :)
*Regardless of how many people show up. We will *NOT* be having 2 seperate games going*
Will bring all the cones/markers, and other stuff for the goals. Will try to bring Gatordate. But bring your own stuff just in case.
If you think you can make it rsvp. If you can't no big deal. No worries. This isnt school. I don't take attendance. And there is no detention.
So Let's Play
Sunday Nov 18th @ 2pm (Save the date!!!).
Anyway Frisbee details:
Time: 2:00-4pm(Quick meet & Greet) And toss Frisbees around for about 15-20 minutes before we get started. We usually play to a predetermined amount of points like 10 or so. The games go by quickly. We can usually get a couple of games in. So if you want to sit out a game to hydrate or rest thats perfectly okay. We have enough people to alternate.
Where to meet:
Lower Pavillion. *DO NOT* go back where the Pier/Deck is. I don't think you will have a problem finding us. The field we play on is pretty centrally located and if we don't choose that one there are others in walking distance. There will be BIG MARKERS that you really can't miss. Just in case you can't find us my cell is[masked]
I get quite a few emails from others who are new. Beginners are very welcomed & Encouraged. Gotta start somewhere :) At almost every meetup we have newbies. The game is not hard to catch on to what-so-ever(On the "about page" I have put some information up on how to play & a video etc.) Before I started the meetup group I had never played Ultimate before :)
Rules will be *very shortly* explained at the meetup. If need be. Or you can ask me individually(People seem to catch on VERY quickly)
Remember even though we are playing a game. Don't take it too seriously. Its just about socializing and just havin' fun!!! No one is judging.
I will bring frisbees, but please bring some flying saucers of your own as well :)
Dress for the weather-May want to wear sweat pants
-Running Shoes/Some people play barefoot. Just be careful about people stepping on your feet.
-Stay Hydrated-Water/Power Drinks
-I will bring *MARKERS* for the goals.
Again there is a short video on the "about" page if you want to look at it, it shows an actual game demonstrated. For text directions on how to play click on Wiki on the about page.
See you on the 18th THIS SUNDAY!!!
Justin(I stutter some so please be patient with me at the meetups)
Any other questions. Feel free to email or call.
