Depends, on a summer day, a nice light, crisp pinot grigio. With spicy asian food, a good, not too try, riesling hits the spot.
Cannonau is a good stand by as is a chianti classico. For a big bold steak I need a good sangiovese or better yet a nice Amarone.
Hard to know now, I've been on the east side list for a while.
