To my fellow Winos,
When I first thought of putting the Winos of the Year Awards together, I was looking forward to chairs, tables, buffet, a band and even more wine in all their places as all of us laughed and cheered. I envisioned dozens of winemakers showing up and taking their winos as their names were called out. Basically, I wanted this to be PERFECT. I am NOT an events coordinator and I know it. What I am, is a social media networking guru, a creator of three meetup groups and most importantly, I am currently trying to establish my winery in the state of Washington. For the past four months, we've been fighting with the federal government, who seems to have *flaked out.
As for the Winos Awards. Due to the lack of response through assistance, ticket sales and poll taking, I would much rather *Rain-check CANCEL this event for a later date. For example: February 2011. I just want it to be up to satisfactory and/or perfect. Those of you who did offer your help, thank you. Those of you who did pay, I will not only reimburse you IMMEDIATELY, but I will also re-invite you to the Winos Awards for FREE. I know this is a great disappointment, but you have to see it from my perspective. I CAN'T DO ANYTHING HALF-ASSED and I CAN'T DO IT ALL ALONE.
Again Thank you. I'm extremely sorry. But I have no other choice to *Raincheck this event for February 2010. *If anyone has any better idea, call me immediately.
