Hi again Cindy. You're more than welcome to mail the leadership staff. The idea is basically we won't review your piece if we've never met you before because when people do that they've been know to take the review, not review anyone else and just leave which isn't very friendly. So we ask that folks attend a meeting first in order to get a feel for the review process then post their piece for review. And synopses are excellent, just mark them as "NFR" (Not for review).
Hi, Cindy! Sorry you couldn't make it last night. Since we ask that you participate in one critique before we review you're welcome to attend next week's non-fiction meetup to be followed in 2 weeks with a review of your current submission. We do this mainly so you know what to expect when you submit a piece for review by first seeing how we review others. That way you're not surprised by what we might say. Then I look forward to reading your work.
Welcome again Cindy. As I mentioned, I think we're full up on pieces for the 29th but I'm penciling you in for the next Fiction meetup on 13 December. Can't wait to read Daniel's Secret!
So if you have something ready now, I suggest you post it ASAP, attend the 29th, and read at least Bette's piece and see how we all do reviews. Hope that's clear and again, welcome!
Hi again, Cindy. Yes, there is no meeting tomorrow. That meeting would have been a non-fiction meeting but most of the non-fiction folks didn't think they could make it so we decided to cancel it and do the 29th as a combined Fiction and Non-Fiction meeting and then do 6 December as Non-Fiction again. As it is, I think we have enough pieces for the 29th so the next spot in Fiction would be the 13 December and we have one 20 page piece already up.
Welcome Cindy! Congratulations
on being so successful with NaNoWriMo! Normally, with novels, we try to do a chapter a meeting and with fiction it's every two weeks. If a chapter is longer than about 15 pages, it might be longer before we read the next since we want to leave time for other writers. If shorter than 5, you could always submit them 2 at a time. Just try to keep them page-numbered and double-spaced and you're good to go! Can't wait to read your work!
Welcome to the Sci-Fi and Fantasy Book Club, Cindy. We're glad you'll be joining us for our NaNoWriMo kickoff. See you soon!
Welcome to the group!
