ABSTRACT

A common need in the scientific, academic and business communities consists of creating interactive web applications. The role of tradional GUIs has been giving the way to cross-platform browser based interfaces. A web interface is not just for human consumption but also necessary for machine-machine communications. Web2py is a tools for rapid developement of secure database driven web applications, built and programmable in Python. Web2py was born into an academic environment but, over time it has become a popular tool in the business community. In this talk we will provide an overview of web2py and we will build an example application.
