The Union Square area of New York City, well known for its green market and history of social activism, is host to numerous working artists of all kinds. The Union Square Artists are committed to keeping art alive in the Union Square area of Manhattan. Founded in the fall of 2009, they form a talented and eclectic group of artists exhibiting collectively through open studios and exhibitions. Currently the group consists of visual artists of all sorts (painters, photographers, print makers, etc), but we encourage all types of artists working or living in the Union Square area to become active in our group. We meet on a semi-regular basis and plan group events, exhibitions, and other ways of helping to promote one another as artsits. Our goal is to set up an annual art festival in Union Square in the near future.
